Pyloric Stenosis………….

Yep that is what it is called the thing that has been running our lives for the last few weeks….what is it you ask……Well it is the muscle at the bottom of your stomach that allows food to transfer from your stomach to your intestines. Little JJ’s decided that it was going to grow a little too big and not allow food to enter his intestines. This caused him to forcefully vomit everytime he ate.

We had been to the doctors office several times, to check for reflux, he got put on medicine for reflux, and a week after he had started the medicine I called back the doctor and said we needed to do something because his vomiting hadn’t gotten better, in fact it had gotten worse even with the medicine. We went in and my little baby had actually gone from 9lbs 7ozs the week before to 8lbs, 12ozs. The doctor scheduled an ultrasound and we had it done and found that he indeed had pyloric stenosis. So we were off to childrens hospital to have his operated on. We got there Thurs night and he had dropped to under 8lbs, and has quit peeing. The got an IV in him and started fluids. The next morning at 9am they did surgery to cut and fix that muscle. We left the hospital Sat afternoon about 4pm.

Here are a before and after picture of JJ. He is a happy, smiling talkative baby now. This morning he was up to 9lbs, 8ozs.

Well it has been awhile since I have written anything. Being home and hainvg the two kids there doesn't lend too much time to bloging. It is Christmas Eve and we are at my parents house. My grandparents have come in from Little Rock to spend Christmas with us. We are all excited to see them and get to spend some time with them. We went and had some Christmas pictures taken. I'll post them as well. There is only one more week until I go back to work. I think it will actually be more of break then being at home will have been. Having to have a little baby and to chase after Breanna all day is a TON of work. I have tonld my babysitter (who has VERY graciously watched Breanna one day a week for me while I have been of, for free mind you.) I don't know where she gets the energy and sanity to watch all of the kids all day long especially since her little one is only a month older than JJ. I hope you all have a very Merry Christmas. I am going to post more of the pictures from JJ first days too, I haven't posted many of them yet last time my computer froze and I haven't gotten back to it yet!! Love ya'll!!

So the first weeks have gone by pretty quickly. We have been hanging out at home mostly. We had Melissa and my Grandparents here for Thanksgiving. Breanna loves getting to hang out with her younger brother. She loves to hold him and hang out with him. So I promised to post some pictures so here they are......

So it has been a few weeks since I have written anything. The weeks have surely been eventful!!

I had a doctors appointment on Friday Nov 17th. Dr. Barki said that JJ was still sitting rather high and that she wanted me to go out and walk around as much as possible so that maybe gravity would help him move down.
After that my dad called and said that my mom was going out to eat with a few of her friends from work and would Jay, Breanna, and I like to meet him somewhere to get dinner. So we decided that we would go to Ft. Swadley and get some hamburgers and chili cheese fries. I added onions and jalapenos to my fires.
Well I don't if the onions and jalapenos had anything really to do with the events that followed, but those fries were surely good!!

So at 4am on Sat morning I had to get up and use the restroom, which isn't unusual for me these days. However this was a little different. As soon as I stood up to go to the bathroom I realized that my water had broken. I went to the restroom, came back in the bedroom and told Jay to get up. I am not sure at first he actually realized what was happening. After a few minutes we were ready to go. We bundled up Breanna and dropped her off at my parents house about 4:30am.
Then we were off to the hospital. We got all checked in and got into a room and got all of the medical questions answered. Then the OB nurse decided that it as time to check me. She did and then asked me if the doctor had checked to see that JJ was head down. I told her yes she had checked. Then the ultrasound machine came in. JJ was sitting so high that his head was around my belly button. Even though he was indeed head down.
So after many hours of being 2cm dialated they decided that it was ok to give me my epidural. It could have been all the screaming that was coming from my room every 3 to 5 minutes when the contractions hit.
So after meeting the anesthesiologist, who honestly was one of the kindest, most caring doctors I have ever met, I got my epidural. Things then moved a little faster. I went from a 2m to a 4cm in the next hour. By 5pm I was at an 8. This is where things stopped. We didn't get anymore progress between then and 8:00, and when the nurse came in to check me my temp had gone from below normal (which is normal for me) to 101.3. She said that since there hadn't been any progress and my temp had gone up that she was going to have to call my doctor and see what she wanted to do about my situation. She came back in and said that they had a c-section just go in to start, and that my doctor said that if nothing had changed by the time that one was over with that I would be next in there.
So about 8:45 they came back in to check on me and indeed nothing had changed we were still at an 8 and I still had a temp. So the decision was made that it was in the best interest of the baby and my health that we go ahead and do the c-section and bring little JJ into this world.
Back in came the anesthesiologist. He came in to talk to me about the anesthesia that they use.
The nurse brought Jay in his scrubs (which he still has), for him to get ready. The nurse got me ready and then we were off to the operating room. It was different in there. It was white and bright. They got me moved onto the operating table and then started all of the meds throught my IV. Then they let Jay come in the room, and shortly after that my doctor and another doctor to assist her came in the room. About 10 minutes later we had our little baby boy. Jay was pretty wide eyed during the whole thing. He later described the whole thing to be, but I guess it is pretty weird to watch someone cut into your wife and deliver your son.
They cleaned, weight and measured JJ, and finished up with my incision, gave JJ to me an then wheeled us out past our family, who in true tradition were waiting right outside the door. The only person I remember seeing and talking to outside those doors was my mom. They didn't really stop, they just kept us moving.
Once back in our room JJ got his first bath, nursed and the got me all settled in. They let everyone back in the room to meet JJ. Everyone got to hold him and hang out with us for a bit. Then being that it was about 11pm, pretty much everyone left. Believe it or not Breanna was there the whole time and still awake.
We stayed in the hospital until Tues about noon. Then we were on our own. Things have been pretty ok since then. I am moving pretty slow and not getting around a whole bunch. I can't drive for two weeks, I really am not suppose to do a whole lot for two weeks.
My parents have kept Breanna for the last week to allow me sometime to recover without having to chase her around. I don't know what I would have done without them here. They truly have been lifesavers.
I'll write more about Thanksgiving and post some good pictures of JJ. These are ones taken with my phone, so they aren't the greatest. We have better ones I'll get up soon!!
By the way incase you are wondering JJ was 8lbs, 0ozs, and 21 inches long. =)

So it has been a LONG time since I posted anything (sorry) so here is what has been going on. Breanna was a little fairy princess for Halloween. We went and "trick or treated" at Jay's mom's house, Matty's moms house where we visited baby Payton,
Then it was on to my prents house, then we stopped by my Dad's cousin Jimmy's house to see him and his wife Janenne. We had stopped ther last year, and I am pretty sure that they hadn't seen her since. Janenne said it was hard to believe Breanna was the same little baby they saw last year, when she wasn't even crawling, and now she was running around. So lets see JJ has yet to make his debut. We are still waiting for him. Went to the doctor yesterday and she said if I wanted to have this baby antime soon to start walking a lot. comforting thoughts from the doctor considering as is at home I barely get to sit down and my ankles by the end of the day, well they aren't ankles, there is just leg then foot!! =) Last weekend was really nice. We got to go out into the backyard and play for a bit. Here are some pictures from then. More later!!

Haiden Gibson......
I couldn't remember if I had told you all about our babysitter Sara. She was due with her second child on Nov 23rd. She has a little boy and was expecting a little girl. Being that our due dates were only 3 days apart Sara and I would ask each other about doctors appointments and things that were going on. So on Oct. 19th when Jay picked up Breanna Sara's mom was there and told Jay that Sara had fallen down a fe
w stairs and had gone to the hospital. Come to find out later she had slipped down the stairs when the babies were coming downstairs from their nap and Breanna had decided to go down like a big girl, and had started to fall and Sara went to grab her.
Sara had little baby Haiden that night (Oct. 19th). They brought her home last Wed.
I called Sara on Sunday to check in with her and see how her and Haiden were doing. Sara was thrilled to have her little baby girl with her. Mom and baby are doing GREAT!! She is a beautiful little baby!! Congrats to Sara, Jerry, and big brother Braden!

Our Weekend........Halloween..........Comming Up next...............

This weekend was a fun and busy one for all of us. Sat afternoon, w
e went over to my parents house and headed out to the Piedmont Pumkin Patch to get Breanna a pumpkin and let her run around. We got there and they were tearing the whole thing down. So as we left Piedmont and were trying to figure out where to go my dad mentioned Chester's Party Barn. So we decided to go and check it out. It was a GREAT place. We got in and there was a petting zoo, lots of pumkins, a hay ride, pony rides (we almost made it all the way throught that one), and lots and lots of things to look at. Breanna had a GREAT time!! Here are some pictures from that day......
Then after we left. Breanna got to spend the night with my parents. They had offered us a very generous offer, of watching Breanna for the evening, and offering to buy Jay and I dinner, so that we could go out and have a nice child free evening before we have JJ and aren't able to do that for a long while. Jay and I took them up on their offer. =)
We went home, took showers and got all dressed up. We went out to the North Fork Grille. We loved thier other resteraunt Deep Fork Grille, so we decided since North Fork was new and we had never been there we would go and try it out. Needless to say w
e weren't dissappointed. It was just as yummy as the Deep Fork.

Sunday Breanna and I got to hang out at home. We played around the house. One of her new favorite things is to walk up to the TV and turn it off, and then on, and so on and so on. She has learned to take off her sock and to put them back on. So she does this over and over again. Here are some pictures from Sunday...

This morning since Breanna won't be at daycare Tues or Wed, she got to wear her Halloween outfit today. Here are some pictures of that....She was watching Barney this morning so she wasn't paying attention to me at all when I was trying to take her picture. =)

Tomorrow is Halloween, I'll post some pictures of Breanna in her Halloween outfit. Of corse like always today is supose to be 80 and tomorrow the high will be 50, so "great" trick or treating weather. We are just going to take her around to family and friends houses. Then Wed, the great people that I work with are going to have a little lunch/baby shower for me at the Olive Garden. Dad, Nana, and Breanna are all getting to come. =) YEAH!!
