Go to Mckmama for more

This weekend I did not let a screaming child stand and pound on the bathroom door while I took a shower. (her father was in the living room and he didn't stop her).

I did not let my kids eat an unusually large amount of strawberries, just because they wanted to.

I did not guilt my husband into going to the store to get diapers on Sunday morning, and he took a child with him.

I did not check Cjane this weekend 20 times for updates on C&S, and cry at this article. (after reading that article I did go hug my husband and kids a little longer than usual).

Pumpkin Patch

This weekend we took the kids to not one, but two pumpkin patches. The first one was the little pumpkin patch that they have in the town we live in. They had TONS of inflatables. The kids loved them. My parents and my dad's cousin Jimmy came over to see the kids. Dad and Jimmy went on a motorcycle ride afterwards. The kids ran wild they were running around looking at all of the different pumpkins. They also fell in love with the golf cart that was out there. They were sitting on it and pretending to drive it most of the time we were there.

Then we were off to Chester's. They had tons of things for the kids to do. We started off at the pony rides. Breanna HATED the ponies the first year we took her, the second she did a little better and this year she LOVED them. That is what she wanted to do as soon as she saw them. JJ on the other hand wanted to ride, then we put him on a pony, he screamed and wanted off. So he and I watched Breanna ride. Then he wanted back on the pony, so Jay put him back on, and he screamed again. So we gave up and left the pony are JJ cried when we left the pony rides. Maybe next year will be better for him.

Then we went into the barn and feed the animals. We fed the goats, lama's, and sheep. We went out and looked at the chickens, the cows, donkey's.

The kids went through the little maze that they had while we were waiting for the hay ride. They held hands while they went through it. They had a lot of fun.

Then the hay ride dropped us off at the big corn maze, we made our way through that and ended up at the big slide. Which was a big hit last year with Breanna, but not so much with JJ. This year JJ LOVED it. He went the first time with Jay and the rest of the time he went up and down by himself. He had a great time. You can see him a little below the top of the slide in the first picture. Breanna went down the slide and then found the HUGE sand pit that they had and she stayed there the rest of the time. The last picture is a picture of Jay and JJ going down the slide. They kind of crashed at the bottom.

We spent over 2 hours at Chrster's. Needless to say it was a long day of running for the kids, and they were worn out when we got home.

Do you have a favorite???

Do you have a favorite??? That was a question I was asked by one of my friends as work.
Now growing up and even as an adult I have always thought that my parents had always had
a favorite, and it was my sister she was always the prettier, smarter, never in trouble child.
I was always the one that was in trouble and had a harder time in school. Do I still think that
way no. Here is why.....

Now it didn't take me 1/2 a second to answer Jess's question. "No" I don't have a favorite.
Absolutely not. I have one girl, and one boy. They are are almost opposites. One is an early
bird, one is a night owl. One will try any food once, the other more picky. One more
conversational, one more quiet. One more snugly, one a little less touchy feely. One is VERY
ticklish, one is a lot harder to tickle. One loves to take their clothes off, one you have to fight
to get their clothes off. One eats the cheese off a pizza the other takes off the cheese and
eats the bread. One is more worried about others feelings then their own.One is more
independent, the other is more hesitant. They are both sweet, very loving, most of the time
very polite, great kids. They love each other, they love to play together. Do they fight with
each other, yes, but I believe at this point they are each others best friends.

I love aspects of each of their personalities, are they different, defiantly. Does that make
me love, or favor one over the other, NO. I love both of them equally, loving being with them
equally. What makes them different from each other is what makes them their own little
person. I love that they are both their own little people, and I appreciate their differences!

Disclaimer: Jess and I were having one of our "baby" discussions when this came up. She wasn't asking to be rude, just a question. She wants a baby BAD see here!!

**Jess butting in here!!! Don't stone me, mommy bloggers. I want to be just like you - believe me....I come in peace. I think maybe I phrased the question wrong, eh? Loves you.

Up next, tomorrow we are going to the pumpkin patch!!

OU/Texas Game

As you know my Dad and I went to the OU/Texas game last weekend. We got up at (well I got up at 3) and went over to my parents house. We had let the kiddos spend the night there the night before so that they weren't wide awake at 3am. We were on the road by 4. It was dark most of the way. We stopped to get coffee, go the bathroom. Nothing too eventful.

We got into the State Fair park pretty easily (well let me tell you we compared the wait of getting in and out to that of the NASCAR races we have been to). Hopped onto the shuttle, and off we went.

We got to the Cotton Bowl area of the park, and tried to find ESPN game day. While we were making our way over there we happened to come across these girls. If you don't recognise them, they are the Texas Pom Squad. (this picture is old). My dad looked, and had a small conversation with himself "do you think I should take their picture?", "no", "yeah let go", "no". After a few seconds of debating with them we walked over and asked if he could take a picture with them. Mind you this is BEFORE the game, and my dad is decked out in his OU gear. They were very nice and I took his picture with the Texas Pom Squad. I will be posting that too, we just need to figure out how to get it off of his phone.

So then we made our way over to the Game Day area. We were a little early, but that was alright. We found a restroom, and (anyone who knows my Dad this is not a big surprise) then we had to find the sausage vendors. I had seen one on our way to the restrooms. It was a big tent with a TON of different choices. I had decided to have a German Fajita, Dad decided to try one too. It was a brat wrapped in a tortilla with all of the sauerkraut on the inside. It was pretty tasty! Then Game Day started, we were pretty far back in the crowd so we stayed for awhile, and then headed to our seats so that we could be there 1 hour before kick off.

We got into the stadium and found our seats. We had made it. We were all ready to watch the game. The stadium began to fill up. It was a completely different atmosphere than I have ever been in a game with. No only could you see the distinct separation of the crowd, you could feel the animosity in the air. One side of the stadium was yelling OU Sucks, the other side was shouting "Texas sucks". We settled in for the game.

As you can see all of my pictures were taken before the game started. There were some high points and some VERY low points in the game. I can say that I question some of the calls, and some of the calls that I thought should have been made, but what is done is done. Can't go back and change it, just have to deal with it.

The game ended, most of the OU side was empty before the game ended, we stayed till the end. Got our stuff together and headed to the car (with a pit stop for some sausage on a stick for Dad). After what seemed like forever, we found the tram, got to the car and got in the long line to get out of the State Fair Park.

We lost, that part was bad. I still had a great time I got to spend time with my Dad at an OU game like we use to do(pre-kids). That part was GREAT! Thanks for taking me, love you Daddy!!

Tired......

This weekend really wore them out. They got to watch a movie on Sunday night before they went to bed. Needless to say they didn't make it through very much of the movie!!!

PARTY at the zoo!!

Last weekend we went to Shayna’s birthday party at the Zoo. Shayna is the daughter of a friend of mine from work. We have worked together at 3 different companies. She came to Forrest when I was there, we worked out in El Reno together, and then she came to OHH and got me a job a few months later. We were pregnant the same time, and Shayna is only 2.5 months younger than Breanna.
The kids had a great time. They got to listen to a story about the zoo animals birthday, pet a hedgehog, go to the aquarium and see all the fish and the sea lions, had some birthday cake and got to watch Shayna open all of her presents. Here are some pictures from the birthday party at the zoo.
