Go Red For Women

Since I work at the Oklahoma Heart Hospital, we kind of have a big thing for the Go Red campaign. If you go to this website you can join the campaign and they will send you a red dress pin. You can also sign up for newsletters with healthy recipes and information to be sent to you....enjoy......

Go Red For Women Campaign Website

From the website-----

Go Red For Women is the American Heart Association’s nationwide movement that celebrates the energy, passion and power we have as women to band together and wipe out heart disease. Thanks to the participation of millions of people across the country, the color red and the red dress have become linked with the ability all women have to improve their heart health and live stronger, longer lives.

Taking care of your heart is more important than you might know. Too few people realize that heart disease is the No. 1 killer of American women — and of men. But the good news is that heart disease can largely be prevented. Go Red For Women empowers women with knowledge and tools so they can take positive action to reduce their risks of heart disease and stroke and protect their health.

Sponsored by Macy’s with additional support from the PacifiCare Foundation and Bayer Aspirin, Go Red For Women began in February 2004, and has since grown into a vibrant national movement as more women, men, celebrities, healthcare professionals and politicians embrace and elevate the cause of women and heart disease.

The movement gives women tips and information on healthy eating, exercise and risk factor reduction, such as smoking cessation, weight maintenance, blood pressure control, and blood cholesterol management.

Happy Brithday (one day early) to my Daddy!! YEAH!!

We are all dealing with cold season now. Breanna JJ and I all have colds. I am calling the doctor about JJ this morning to see of there is something I can give him.

We went and signed the lease on our new house this weekend. I actually called mom and dad and had them come over and look at the house while we were doing all of the paperwork. They got to roam around and look at everything.

Other than that we are just hainvg a normal week.....

Last night Breanna woke up because of her cold and she started crying so I went and got her. We were snuggling on the couch, she woke up looked at me and smiled REALLY big put her little arms around my neck and gave me a hug. Then she started to run her fingers through my hair , like I do to her to get her calmed down and to go to sleep. Soooo sweet is my little baby girl. Those are the moments that make all the diapers, and late nights all worth it!!

Here are the pictures of our new house.....I'll post more when there is acutally stuff in the house. =)

Breanna's bedroom, the area in the back will be her play area in her room.

So how was our anniversary you ask…………

Well as you read yesterday it started off with me breaking my toe. Yes it really is broken. It has turned a lovely shade of purple and is still really swollen. I have been wearing slippers or shoes since it happened. There is nothing worse than stubbing a broken toe. (just ask my mother that one).

Then my day at work went well. I kept busy all day and the day seemed to fly by.

At about 4:10 Jay called me and said that he was going to drive over to my work so that I could take him home because he had fallen on the ice at work and wasn't feeling well. I asked him where he was and he didn't know. He then he said that he didn't remember what happened. So I told him to find out where he was. He had to go and ask someone that was walking by what the cross streets were. Turned out he was at 122nd and Rockwell. Which for those of you that aren't in OKC is about 1/2 a mile from where my mom and dad live and an area Jay is very firmiliar with. I told him not to drive anywhere that I was coming to get him. The whole time I was driving to get him he kept asking me what happened. So I took him to the Mercy Emergency room. They got his vitals and asked a TON of questions a lot of which he couldn't remember. So they got us back to an atual room pretty quick and then had a nurse practitioner come in and ask a bunch more questions and then do some pyhsical tests on Jay. Then they rushed him up to have a CT scan done on his head. About a half hour later they brought him back down. The doctor looked at the CT scan and said that there was no swelling and no bleeding so all Jay had was a concussion and that he could go home. On a side note the doctor was the same doctor that saw JJ the night that we took him in there.

So we went home, stopping by my parents house to collect our children that they had so graciously gone and gotten from daycare for us. We had dinner and everyone went to bed. I got up several times to wake Jay up to check on him.

This morning Jay didn't remember much of the whole incident, even the ER. In the end we are all ok and healthy. Next year though we might stay at home on our anniversart… =)

We are the Bears Shufflin' Crew………….

We are the Bears Shufflin' Crew
Shufflin' on down, doin' it for you.
We're so bad we know we're good.
Blowin' your mind like we knew we would.
You know we're just struttin' for fun
Struttin' our stuff for everyone.
We're not here to start no trouble.
We're just here to do the Super Bowl Shuffle.

Super Bowl Shuffle - video powered by Metacafe

Yep that is right, get ready for the next Super Bowl Champs, the Chicago Bears.

I really wanted it to be the Patriots vs the Bears, but I'll take the Colts. The last time the Bears won the Super Bowl we lived in Chicago. To this day I can sing the Super Bowl Shuffle almost word for word. I had a Refrigerator Perry shirt that I wore. We had Bears day at school to celebrate. My parents have a video of me not only zsinging the Super Bowl shuffle, but actually doing all the moves jsut like the players.

First the kids…..

JJ was 2 month old on Thurs. We went to the doctor and he said that everything was fine. Here were his stats:

Height - 23.5 inches which is in the 72% for kids his age
Weight - 10lbs 0ozs which is in the 15% for kids his age

We go see the surgeon for our check up tomorrow. He is doing a lot better. He has shots on Friday, so it made him a little cranky and irritable this weekend.

Breanna was 1 1/2 on Sat. She didn't have to go to the doctor, but here are her stats.

Height - 32 inches which is in the 70% for kids her age
Weight - 21lbs 8ozs, which is in the 14% for kids her age.

Second we are moving…….
A few details on the house. It is about 1800 sq feet. There are 3 bedrooms and 1.5 bath. The kids bathroom is pretty big. There is a kitchen large enough to put the table in. The living room has two sections, one that may be used as a dining room, but we are going to use it as a place in the living room for the kids toys. Their bedrooms are VERY large. There use to be a screened in porch on the back of the house, they took that out and extended the house out. So the bedrooms on the back of the house have a bit extra room in them. It has a two car garage and the backyard has a storage building in it.
Finally it is a lot closer to mom and dads house. We are about 4.5 miles east of them and about 1 mile south.
We will be making the actual move the weekend of Feb 17th-18th. Here is a map and picture of the outside of the house. I am going to go over there and take some pictures of the inside of the house this week sometime I'll send those later this week.

We had a great weekend last weekend. Melissa and Frank came for a visit. We had a great time with them. Frank is just sooooo nice. He seems to fit in with the rest of us, which sometime isn't that easy to do. I am impressed he just jumped right in there and was playing with the kids and laughing and joking with us. Melissa seemed to be very happy. Breanna loved playing around with him. He gets the sister stamp of approval from me. Jay even liked him, and Jay doesn't always like people.

We had some family pictures taken this weekend. We had planned on having Grandma and Grandad here to take pictures, but the weather had other plans. They couldn't come because of the weather that we had over the weekend. We will have some more pictures taken the next time we can get them here.

On a side note…I may have broken my toe this morning (a true McClain tradition) walking through a dark house. I kicked a chair walking through the kitchen. Trying to be quiet so I would not wake sleeping children. I have taken my shoe off since I have been at work and my toe is nice and large and a little blue. I have already broken that toe once, so I know ya just tape it to the one next to it and go on.

Let it sleet, let it sleet, let it sleet............

Yes let it sleet. On Friday morning about 9am things in OKC changed. It got bitterly cold (it is 16 right now,Monday morning) and it started sleeting. The one good thing it was supose to be freezing rain, which would have more than likely pulled down all of our power lines. Sleet doesn't stick to trees and power lines like the freezing rain would have. It sleeted most of the day. My office closed down so I left about 10:30 to go and get the kids from daycare. The drive that usually takes me about 20 minutes took me an hour. So I got home about 12:30. We pretty much stayed inside all weekend. This morning we got up and headed out the door. The roads aren't cleared it doesn't even look like there is any salt, or sand on the roads. The kids are with Gamma and Grandad today. There is no school and I didn't have daycare so they are haing a good time over there. I took some pictures of the sleet……Coming up….Jay's birthday is Thurs, Melissa and Frank are coming on Thurs (yeah). We finally get to meet Frank (whom everyone else has already met). Grandma and Grandad are coming from Little Rock to meet Frank. I'll let you know if he passes the sister test next week. He has passed everyone elses test so far….put the sister test is a little different. =)

The highway Friday morning, leaving work

Sleet....kind of like big salt grains. Not really snow.

Outside our house sunday afternoon....kinda dark for 2pm

One of my favorite times

Is in the evening. After the babies have been fed and bathed. They are soooo snuggly in the warm winter PJ's. Breanna is at the age that she is being really loving and sweet and loves to snuggle up to people. We all climbed up onto the couch last night to watch the Good Night show on our favorite kids channel. There is nothing better. Here are some pictures from last night.

What a day..

Well my day started out ok. I got the kids up and ready and got out the door and when I got to the van I pushed the button to open the door and the door wouldn't open. I walked around to the other side and got in the other door, and the lights on the inside didn't come on. So I though well maybe it is a fuse that isn't working. I got the kids to daycare and got to work and called my dad to see if that is what he thought that it was. Jay had to go to Woodward (about 2.5 hours away) for work yesterday so I was going to hav to fix what ever was wrong by myself. So my dad says that he has a little box of extra fuses and do I want him to come and see if it is a fuse and if he has one that would fix it. So he got to my office and we were out in the parking lot looking at all of the fuses, and all of the ones that he pulled out and looked at looked good. So he took the keys and got into the drivers seat and started the car. He tried to turn the doam lights on, and they didn't come on. Then my dad looks up and on the control panel on the roof of the van there are 4 buttons. He pushes one of them and the doam lights come on he pushes the one next to it and the van door opens. Now I looked at the buttons and one has a picture of a light bulb with an X though it the other has a picture of a van door with an X through it.

My mom said that the lesson learned is that kids suck your brains out. You slowly lose your mind when you have kids. I think she is right. =)

We have had a lot of talk about JJ lately, so to day it will be Breanna's turn. She is getting to be such a little person. If you ask her she can identify the following body parts, nose, eyes, mouth, hair, ear, arm, hand, leg, food, and her belly button. She talks all the time, and NEVER sits still. She has become a loving little baby too. She loves to walk up to you and give you kisses. She walks up to JJ and puts her head in his lap to love on him and then she will give him kisses. She loves to snuggle first thing in the morning (before she is fully awake, because once she is she is off and moving). She is also a very everything in it's place perons. If you have a cup out, even if you are drinking something out of it at that moment, as soon as you put it down she is grabbing it and taking it to the sink to put it in there. When I first put her toys into her new room she would carry them back across the house and put them in her old room. She loves going to daycare, although sometime she wants me to stay there with her. She loves playing with her friends. There is one little boy Noah whom she adores. She also just loves her Sara, we are soooo lucky to have her to watch our kids, she does such a good job.

Well we have booked our vacation YEAH!!!!! Last May I won a trip to Cozumel. Well they give you a certain amount to spend on a hotel and a certain amount to spend on airfare towards a trip. We are going to go to April 15th and we are coming back on April 19th. We will spend Sunday through Thurs.
We are going to have a few days of adult time (that was mostly free)!! YEAH!! Here is the website of the hotel that we are going to stay in. I choose an all inclusive resort, it will save us a TON of money on Jay's eating and drinking. I did make sure that the drinks that were included were not just the domestic drinks, but also included premium alcohol. It will be the first time in about 2 years that I will really be able to have more that one drink at a time. We will have a great time!! I am starting to get excited!! YEAH!!

Some pictures of the kids….JJ getting a bath, he isn't quite sure about them yet. He has quit screaming the entire time he is in the bath though so that is progress. Breanna is dancing on the bed with mommy after her bath. She thinks it is sooooo much fun to dance.
